We as a family, are a huge a Maltesers Fan, especially while watching movies at home. Everyone has their own way of eating it – For me, I like to melt the chocolate coating in my mouth first and then chew the crispy part, Shahul likes to eat them whole and my girl likes to remove the chocolate first and later have the rest. Anyway, I am sure we all love it .
Talking about cheese cake, I am not really a fan of cheesecakes. The only flavor that I liked was Hot Brownie Caramel Cheese Cake, Oh gosh!! that was heavenly. Rest of the family members of mine loves it – they loves any sweets !! It makes them happy and seeing them happy, makes me happy !!
So, lets try a easy quick dessert combining the crunchy chocolaty Maltesers with the classic vanilla cheese cake – doesn’t sound exciting ?? Indeed !!
Lets keep the oven away from it. We are looking for something that we can make and set aside while preparing a feast or a party. Yes, it takes just 5-10 mins if you have all ingredients ready to go on your kitchen counter. While preparing for a party, I like to serve my dessert individually rather than a whole pudding or a cake. I felt, it is easier to serve and please the guests. You can just buy some clear plastic or see through glass and serve. It looks more attractive and everyone will appreciate your efforts.
The first step in the recipe : For any dessert, a crunchy element is necessary and the crumble is that element in our cheesecake. Usually we break digestive biscuits using a ziplock bag and a roller or a blender , add butter and mix well until a sand like texture. These steps remains the same, However, Since we have a hero – Maltesers, we will break few of those with the biscuits which will bring out the taste and flavor of it and say that , “yes, it is Maltesers Dessert’. Okay, The crumbles are ready and you can arrange a layer of this in to your serving glasses and keep it aside.
Second step is to prepare the cheese cake – In a bowl, add the cream cheese, cream, caster sugar and vanilla and beat with an electric mixer until it is thick. It takes may be a minute or two. Add a splash of vanilla and give a quick beat again. It is time in again to bring back our Hero – Crush again few of the Maltesers and this time, let there be some chunks of Maltesers. It gives a beautiful crunch while having the creamy cheese cake. Please any time you prepare a cheese cake, go for the full fat one, only then your end result is going to a creamy moist fluffy dessert.
Spoon the cream mixture in to the glasses on top of the crumbles and refrigerate for an hour or two. You can have it instantly as well, but I felt the flavor and texture is more pleasing if it is refrigerated. Just before serving, decorate with some whip cream and a Malteser on top.
