When I got my Invitation from Zomato Qatar Team to join their meet up at the Elements Restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel, I got really excited and confirmed my attendance without thinking twice. Thank you Hala from Zomato for the invitation.
At the Elements Restaurant, we were welcomed by Ms.Frances, a very enthusiastic and passionate person towards her job. She took us for a tour all over the restaurant and explained every bit of it. ‘Elements’ was built based on four classical ‘Elements’ – Earth, Air, Fire and Water. The place really took my heart away with the stylish earthy toned interior, a cozy open air terrace area with DJ, Live cooking stations, and a Bar.
The restaurant offers different varieties of Arabic, Asian, Indian and seafood flavors. Even being a weekend, they had a busy kitchen and was fun to watch the talented chefs in action.
Once we settled down , we were joined by Ms. Endamia Decour- Director of Public Relations,For Seasons – Doha who spend her valuable time throughout out our dining experience. She did noted all our comments towards the food & service. I really appreciate her for that.
Starting with a drink, I opted for ‘Jimador’s Alarm Clock’. A non alcoholic drink with fresh green chilli, watermelon and orange juices with a lime salt rim. It did give a good chilli hint when I took my first sip and was refreshing.
The first delight we were served was a Salmon with Olive Powder, Lime and Yuzu Paste. Very elegant presentation!! The only thing that was concerning me was ‘Raw Salmon’. I am not at all a fan of raw food and was bit hesitant to try at first. And I took my first bite and ‘yaaay!!’ it wan’t bad, that I thought it would be. Salmon has got a bite to it, but then it just melts away. The black olive powder and yuzu paste with a piece of cucumber, it all complimented well together.
Next up was a platter of soft shell crab wrap with green foul mash & pickled vegetables, wasabi prawns with nuts, pineapple bits & Cavour, Chicken Tikka with Coriander chutney, two types of salad- one is “Asinan Jakarta with jicama roots, mango, carrots & peanuts and the other one ‘SOM TAM- papaya salad with Cashews’.
The dish that stood out for me was the soft shell crab warp with green foul mash and SOM Tam, it has got a real spice and I love it. The Wasabi prawns needed some heat and the chicken tikka for me needed more marination and was a bit dry.
We then presented with a gorgeous beautiful looking Seafood Miso Ramen with shrimps, scallops, cuttlefish, cooked egg topped with papaya and seaweed strips. I loved the bowl and the way the food looked. The noodles were soft and and the seafood were cooked to perfection. The element that I felt was missing was a touch of salt.
It is said that “The best things in life are meant to be shared” . And we the Zomato Team shared our next coarse of meal – Shrimp Moilee, Black Pepper Beef, Chicken Green Curry & Wok vegetables with a bowl of Rice. Each one of it was the best in their own way. I loved all of it, but the one I still crave for is ‘Black pepper Beef’ – The beef was cooked with a pink inside, the mushroom, the sauce had the pepper goodness but not at all over powering, you can taste everything in it.
Chicken green curry was delicious. The shrimp Moilee was rich and tangy with prawns that just melt in your mouth.
The Wok vegetables were a simple stir fried broccoli, shiitake mushroom and bok choy and it has got a beautiful real earthy true flavor. Awesomeness.
And here comes what I, or we all were waiting for – Chocolate!! Chocolate!! Chocolate!! .A Dark Chocolate Sphere, Chocolate Soil, Vanilla, Ice cream, Strawberries, Hot Chocolate Sauce with a touch of Gold Leaf. I have always been dreaming of having it and this was delightfully gorgeous. I am truly deeply madly in love with it.
I must appreciate the staff for giving us an unexceptionable service and time. It was commendable.
If you are alone or with a bunch of friends, the Elements is one of the cozy place to be, with good food. Give it a chance if you are seafood, Indian, Asian or Arabic Food lover enjoying a elegant in door dining with the live cooking stations , or a chic outdoor terrace area with some cocktails or mock tails and a DJ is all set to entertain you!!
