It was few weeks back, we had our stay at Concorde Hotel for two nights.
Though the check in time was at 0200pm, we reached there almost like 0230pm. Apparently the room wasn’t ready and we were made to wait for half an hour at the lobby. The most irritating part was that the lady at the counter was just doing her job without any smile or any pleasantness. It felt like she was not happy with her job.
After the waiting time , we were informed that the room is ready, however no information was given about when and where the breakfast is served. And no one asked or came to carry our luggage at least for courtesy.
The room was kept clean and tidy and the room space was okay. The amenities provided were satisfactory. Downside – the view from the room was not great to watch ( I did not expect it as well) and only one towel and bathrobe were provided.
We had our breakfast at Olives restaurant. The atmosphere of the place was beautiful with a view of pool with little greenery. In the corner, it has mentioned kids area, but I could not find anything for kids. Again about the staffs, some seems to be very nice and on the other hand some looked very unhappy and tired.
Talking about the food, I am so disappointed to say that the quality is really pathetic. The croissants were not flaky, the oats was kind of a cake piece, the mushrooms tasted like tinned, the potatoes were soggy. Both days our breakfast turned out to be very unpleasant. We stick to Arabic mezze and omelette which were quite good.
Late in the night, we had in room dining and ordered chicken curry and chicken tikka sandwich. The sandwich tasted nice , however now where did I got the taste of a tikka. The chicken pieces in the gravy tasted like frozen chicken thighs from the super market.
While checking out, a lady came to me to share my experience and my husband had a talk with the reception guy as well. We informed them about our view about the hotel and asked to read our suggestion card that we had kept in the room. They did say sorry at the hotel and later after reading our review, we received a call again to apologize.
In the reception area, they have written their room rates are from QAR. 1000/- +. For this price and the service we received I would consider the hotel to be a 2 or 3 star. Since our stay was complimentary from a third party, I am not that sad about it as I did not spent any money on them except the food I ordered. I wonder if I ever go back to that place again. Total disappointment.
